The country is going in the wrong direction, and this is due to crime, rising cost of living and unemployment. People fear being on the streets as drug trafficking increases. There is a lot of crime in neighborhoods and communities. Although the government tries to fight crime, police say its a "lost cause".
This article ties to the political life of the country because it is not only affecting the government but it is also affecting the people. The crime rates are going up along with unemployment rates. Their economy is already bad enough and this could just make it worse.
I feel like the information in this article isn't that shocking. This is a developing country so it is expected that they have a lot of crime and unemployment but that fact that 7 out of 10 people say that the country is on the wrong track is what amazes me. That is more than half of the population. I think that most people dont know what to do about these issues and I think that sooner or later the government is going to give up trying to stop crime.
