The retirement age in the Netherlands is increasing by 3 months each year and people aren't happy about this. By 2023 the retirement age will be 67. Mark Rutte is the person that decided to increase the retirement age to 67 and it is the least popular reform. This is one of the five issues that is dominating the campaign to elect a new government of March 15.
I think that this is a very important issue. If more than 40% of the people over 60 years old disagree with this reformation then they have to fix this problem. This may lead to bigger political problems in the future. I wouldn't want to work until I was 67 so I understand where the people are coming from.
This issue along with, healthcare, immigration, Europe, and housing could cause a lot of problems for Netherlands in the future. If a few people in the population start to disagree with something or someone then other people will catch on and start to feel the same way. This issue ties to the political life of the Netherlands because it is impacting the elections.
